| Citrus Clowns
Prospective clowns learn about makeup, costumes, props, character development, ethics, and other interesting, fun-filled topics. An immersion exercise allows students to visit a local hospital and care facility accompanied by instructors. Following graduation from clown training clowns visit local nursing homes and hospitals or participate in many community events sponsored by local nonprofit organizations. Clowns from previous classes often mentor new graduates, who later chose to volunteer alone or in teams. This corps of caring clowns provide entertainment in many forms--greeting guests, painting faces or hands, sculpting balloons, performing skits or magic, and sharing smiles, hugs, or just a kind word. Citrus Clowns range in age from 5 to 85, singles or couples or multi-generational family units. For information on the next training session call the Mary K. Hall at (352) 628-3414 after 6 pm M-F or on the weekends. |
